James “Jimmy” Franklin Maxwell was born to Corene (Maxwell) Story, on April 3, 1951 in Indianapolis, Indiana where he resided until his breath on April 12, 2019 at the age of 68 years and 9 days. In addition to his Step-Dad, Howard Story, Jimmy was preceded in death by his two sisters: Linda and Theresea, and one brother, Reginald Maxwell.
Jimmy attended school through the Indianapolis Public School, Elementary school Francis W. Parker School #56 and Arsenal Technical High School, which he completed with the class of 1969.
Jimmy accepted Christ at an early age, and was baptized at New Bethel Baptist Church by Dr. F. Benjamin Davis. Jimmy was an active member of New Bethel Choirs from, Children, Youth, Senior, and Male Chorus, where he lead several solos when asked. Jimmy also served as a member of the Youth Usher Board.
Jimmy as a youth and young adult was very active in several community organizations. He was a member of the Douglas Little League, he enjoyed playing Basketball at different areas in the community. At New Bethel he was part of the Club Scout and Boy Scouts of America Troop 199.
Jimmy worked at Indiana Veneer and Lawrence Township School District until he was medically retired. Jimmy enjoyed being a Brother, Uncle, Great Uncle, and an extended Brother and Uncle to many others.
Jimmy leaves to cherish his devoted Mother, Corene Story; two sisters, Carolyn and Dorothy; Nephews, Darryl, Robert and Christopher Maxwell, and Timothy (Marla) Johnson; and Nieces, LaTasha and Lakesha Wolfe; a host of great nephews and nieces and a great-great uncle and friend to everyone.
